  • Condition: The text block is the original 1865 volume, which was rebound in February, 1959 according to the inscription. The inside pages show quite a bit of age tanning, some foxing throughout, and there is some staining present on some pages. Has some very faint pencil writing on a front fly page which appears to have a date of 1881. The new binding is solid, and with care the book should survive many more years. Most photos inside retain their original tissue coverings. Please examine the photos carefully for yourself.

    Description

    An original 1865 copy of "Sherman and His Campaigns: A Military Biography", by Col. S.M. Bowman and Lt. Col. R.B. Irwin, which was rebound by Worth Bindery in Fort Worth, Texas in February, 1959. The outer boards are in very good shape. The original inner pages have some condition issues but are well preserved due to it being repaired. There is some tanning, some foxing here and there, some staining, but the volume is completely legible and even retains most of the original tissues covering the photos. One fly page has some very faint pencil writing and appears to have a date of 1881 on it. Please read my further condition details above and be sure to examine the photos closely for yourself.
