Description
This listing is for the pair of enamel porcelain ginger jar shape vases that you see in the photos. I purchased them at an estate sale in Oregon where was told their history. Some research on the Gotheborg marks on Chinese porcelain site tells me that the marks indicate, “Zhonggou Chao Cai-”China, Swatow Enamels” and that they were probably made in the 1970’s. I leave to the buyer to decide where and when they were made.Except for small differences, the scenes are the same on both sides and on both vases. One vase is smaller than the other vase. The taller vase measures close to 8 ¾ inches tall with the largest circumference being close to 27 ¼ inches or calculated diameter of 8.68 inches. It weighs close to 3 pounds 13.8 ounces. The shorter vase measures close to 8 ½ inches tall and has a largest circumference measuring close to 26 inches or calculated diameter of 8.28 inches. It weighs close to 3 pounds 14 ounces.
The condition is much like you see it in the photos. The shorter jar has some cracks in one area along the rim that you can see in the photos. The bottom of the inside of the taller jar has some globular formations with what looks like cracks fro when it was fired defining their shapes. There are no chips on either. The inside of both jars looks like it has a little soil. Otherwise, they are fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of their general condition.
I guarantee these ginger jars to be as described and represented by the 16 photos after the general description. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them.
Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure.
I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied.
I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation.
I frequently purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often but not always ship the same or the next day. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable. Sometimes, I use used boxes.
Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends. I might not be available to answer email on weekends.
