Vintage Chinese Ceramic Square Lidded Ginger Jar With Plate Rooster Design.
Purchased at Porter & Prince Ltd. in Ashville, NC.  Card will be included.
Beautiful vintage Chinese heavy ceramic lidded jar, featuring a repeated design of roosters and chickens among ornate decorative scrollwork of reds and greens against a cream background.
Underside of jar is marked in Chinese characters as well as a warning in English that these items are "Not for food purpose. For decorative use only."
Wonderful as a set on display or for storing non-food items, this stunning piece could also be used separately in a room's décor with coordinating pieces.
CONDITION:
Excellent vintage pre-owned condition, with no chips, structural cracks, damage, or repairs.
There is a staining on the underside of the lid along the rim and was this way when I purchased it, so was put there on purpose to make it look aged?   Not sure.
