    Description

The Poetry of Freemasonry by Robert Morris LLD Autographed plus unpublished poem & note
    Unique book autographed by Robert Morris LL.D. (1818 - 1888) Copyright 1884
Antiquarian hardcover book that will be a fantastic addition to a collection
Because of his many works on Masonic subjects, on December 17, 1884, Robert
Morris was crowned the "Poet Laureate of Freemasonry"
1884 Chicago First Edition, published for the author by Knight & Leonard, Printers.
    Standard edition 11 X 8 inches.
    All edges gilt
ORIGINAL UNPUBLISHED POEM by the author (September 1885) on the front end paper.
There is also a note signed by the author inside dated 8/61.
It is most likely to a friend of Robert Morris who saved the note to add to the book.
Orangeburg, SC is mentioned in the note which is dated 8/21 (probably 1885)
Some small wear spots on the cover.
I have glanced through all pages of the book and find the following:
At least nine pages show foxing on both sides, this includes the frontspiece.
However, it is possible that the cause is from stain from a copper printing plate
    for the fronts piece.
At least six pages have a few holes through them at the bottom left of the page
Illustration with a frontispiece of the author, red borders on all pages and small
printers devices and illustrations among text.
There could possibly be other minor issues that were missed.
Nice condition exterior in full gold and black decorated binding.
Interior of the book has mostly tight strong binding and mostly clean pages,
although the front cover is partily shaken
Pages are gilded on all three sides.
The front cover is partially shaken.
The corners of the cover are slightly bumped.
This book will be shipped insured
