Sir Walter Scott
(b.1771-d.1832), was a Scottish novelist, poet, playwright and historian. Many of his works are classics of European literature, notably the novels Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, Waverley, Old Mortality, The Heart of Mid-Lothian and The Bride of Lammermoor, and the narrative poems The Lady of the Lake and Marmion. He had a major impact on European and American literature.

5 3/4" x 8 7/8" x 1 3/4". Full Tan leather. Embossed spine with 4 ribs. Marbled edges somewhat dusty/faded. No bookplates. Binding very strong. Gilt in spine design and title. Spine hinges show some light scuffing. Light corner rubs. No missing pages. No bookplates. No dog ears. Two consecutive upper page corner tips chipped off. Lightly period penciled name on several page margins.Tissue guard on frontis engraving has period penciling. This is a nice book seldom Sean in this good of a condition.
