    Rarely encountered book. DISOSWAY, Gabriel P. , New York, 1865. 1st Edition. Very Good. 416 pages + Blanks + Cover. 11 plates. Red cloth cover. Text is clean. Some very minor paper chips around trims mostly near the several front pages, consistent with some paper from the time having a high PH factor during its milling process making the text paper somewhat brittle and brownish toned. These effects will be found in all the original printing of this book to varying degrees. Plates paper are not affected. Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1864. Binding strong. Boards have very light wear, marks, bumps for its 156 years. Outer spine top has a shelf pull chip not affecting the gilt title. Outer spine bottom has a shelf minor pull wear just barely affecting the gilt publishers name. No damp stains on the text. No missing pages. No missing plates. No bookplates. Light period penned inscription on inside front blank. Dimensions: 8 3/4" x 7 1/4" x 1 5/8".
