  • Condition: Very good to excellent pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks or loss and a nice soft gloss. A rectangular surface mark looks to have been done with a sharp tool/knife before firing -- it extends from lid to jar but is is on the surface only and is not readily visible from normal distance (see photo 9) .

    Description

    I can't find my mom's documentation for this piece, so I'm uncertain of its era, but the color and type of pottery/ceramic seems to indicate age.
    The fruits appear to be mangoes. The background of this jar is a soft sand color; the fruit are yellow, pink and robin's egg blue, with touches of cream white and green leaves.
    The interior of the jar and the lid are a soft robin's egg blue.  Signed/marked on base.
    The design itself looks contemporary, and I believe this piece would fit into many different style environments.
    Dimensions: overall 6-5/8", with the base measuring 4-7/8" of that and the jar is 5-1/8" wide, so overall a good capacity.
    Selling to settle my mother's estate -- she was an ASID interior designer in Newport Beach and San Clemente, CA for 40 years.
