    viii, 508, x pages.  Hardcover in original cloth binding with gilt title on spine.  Previous owner name in pencil on front pastedown.  SCARCE to find the original 1st edition on the market, in any condition.  There are some tape repairs and some loss of text to some pages in the Preface, and the last page of the Preface is lacking.
