    Description

    Pair of beautifully detailed
    late 19th century hand-carved solid cherry wood lions. These figural lions most likely were used as ornaments on fireplace mantels with opposed columns. The lions feature intricately detailed claw foot paws, long and flowing mane and highly realistic facial features. The carved wood lions measures 12 inches in height. There are 2 holes in each. Presumably for mounting on a mantel. They are both in great condition for age. See photos Possibly made by Decorator's Supply in Chicago.
