The Volkl Men's Pro Insulator Jacket is a high performance hooded insulator jacket that's perfect for layering under an exterior shell and can also be worn on its own. Insulator jackets like this are a must have for any skier. It will allow you to stay warm even through really cold temperatures if you're layering properly underneath and on the exterior. The 80 g of Primaloft insulation in the Pro Insulator jacket will keep you cozy warm, without adding a ton of extra weight to lug around. In fact, the weight of the Pro Insulator jacket is one of the highlights; it's very light. It has a sporty, low profile fit that's perfect for layering underneath your ski jacket. In addition to being a great layering piece the Pro Insulator is also a great jacket to wear on its own for around town and other casual use. Really the only thing you won't want to do in your Pro Insulator jacket is wear it as an exterior jacket in rain or wet snow, although it does have a Torex Replex DWR coating that helps repel moisture, but it's not fully waterproof. For dry days it works great as a shoulder season hiking jacket, around camp, and just about anywhere else you want to stay warm and cozy while outside.
