A first printing, first edition copy (with date codes of "0667" to the jacket and "D-R" to the copyright page) of King's final book. A bookplate to the interior printed with the name "Willette Criggler" (a longtime African-American St. Louis educator) and an original purchase receipt laid in at rear combine to provide compelling evidence of previous Black ownership to an attractive example of an important work.KING, Martin Luther Jr.

In original illustrated dust jacket. Unclipped (.95). Tiny bit of paper loss to upper right corner of front jacket panel, upper left hand corner with short closed tear and small area of creasing. Previous owner's bookplate pasted to interior of front board with her name in blue ink. Original purchase receipt laid-in at rear (and with corresponding shadowing to rear endpaper). Very good-plus throughout.
