Description: Rare original 1884 hard cover book titled Wheel Songs by Conant Foster. 80 pages of illustration and poems just about bicycling. It measures 9 1/4" x 9 1/4" and is complete with all pages. Covers show wear but the gold embossing is in near perfect condition. The pages are all uniform off white with no foxing and it has no storage od mildew odors.
Anthology, by committed bicyclist Conant Foster; we say call Mr. Foster a “committed bicyclist” as a google search reveals that he was arrested, jailed and fined for “violation of the Park Ordinaces of the City of New York, prohibiting the riding of bicycles and tricycles in the Central Park”
