ABOUT THE PUBLICATION
Illustrierter Beobachter (Illustrated Observer) was a weekly tabloid newspaper published by Verlag Franz Eher Nachf. GmbH., Munich. It was published from 1926 to 1945 and edited by Hermann Esser.
This hardbound compilation of issues of this newspaper have been carefully bound and the edges of the paper neatly trimmed. The binding appears to have been done during the time period.
PROVENANCE: Formerly in the Library of Congress and an Elite Nazi School
- Rubber stamping on the inside cover reads, “The Library of Congress Duplicate.”
— also —
- Another rubber stamp reads, “Ordensburg Gonthofen.” The Ordensburg Sonthofen is one of the NS-Ordensburgen built during the Third Reich in Sonthofen (Oberallgäu). Currently it belongs to the Bundeswehr and is named Generaloberst-Beck-Kaserne. It was designed by architect Hermann Giesler as a school for the education of elite Nazi military and party echelons. The internationally known actor Hardy Krüger attended this school.

ITEM CONDITION
VERY GOOD. There is some wear to the cover. Titles on the spine are worn and there is a vertical crease to the spine. Faded spot on the spine where label was removed. These newspapers are in excellent overall condition. Some issues have yellowing. Hard to believe these newspapers have survived in such excellent condition. The cloth binding is from the time period. Former library book from the elite Nazi school, Ordensburg Sonthofen, and then the U.S. Library of Congress.
There is no reserve on this item, only a fair starting bid.
