Up for sale is a very nice antique 1921 - 1930 four-volume set of books titled: THE HISTORY of MINNESOTA by William Watts Folwell for The Minnesota Historical Society! They are a beautiful set of old books. This is the COMPLETE FOUR -VOLUME SET; they were published by The Minnesota Historical Society. They provide a very detailed, complete history of Minnesota, beginning with French Explorations! Each volume was copyrighted and published over time from 1921 to 1930.
The publication date for each volume is found on each title page, these are the FIRST EDITION of this set. Volume One was published in 1921, Volume Two was published in 1924, Volume Three was published in 1926, and Volume Four was published in 1930, after the author's death in 1929. Editor Solon J. Buck wrote a nice EDITOR'S INTRODUCTION for each volume, explaining the volume’s contents and explains The Minnesota Historical Society was gathering these materials for over 70 years. That would date some of these materials back to 1850.
These books were gently handled down through the years. The books are a high quality publication. I acquired this nice set of books from a very nice estate whose owner was a native Minnesotan. They sat on a shelf in a beautiful private library undisturbed for decades!
