    Description

    This auction is for a fabulous Lot of 3 Antique Books from 1885 - Our Living World - An Artistic Edition of the Rev. J. G. Wood's Natural History of Animate Creation!
    The books were Revised and Adapted to American Zoology by Joseph B. Holder, MD. They were published in New York by Selmar Hess in 1885.  They were electrotyped by Smith & McDougal and printed by D. G. F. Class.  The books each measure about 10" x 13".  They are each 500 - 700 pages long.  The books are leather bound with gilding at the edges.  The are inscribed inside by Minnie Woollacott Brown, Lakeview, IL and also have her bookplate inside.  The books are full of wonderful wood engravings and color illustrations.  They have full indexes in the back.

    The books have some wear from age.  The cover is splitting from a spine a bit in the 3rd volume. Volume I has some discoloration on the tops and bottoms of some of the pages at the end.
