Hardcover book, brown pebbled cloth covered boards, gilt titling on the spine, 6x9.5 inches, 468 pages. Includes numerous portrait plates of various Morisons, Morrisons and related; plus there is a fold open map of Rockingham County, New Hampshire.
FAIR condition. The covers are very worn, frayed, worn and chipped at the spine ends, worn through and frayed at the corners, scraped at the edges, and rubbed; nonetheless the covers are original and still doing their job. Internally, the front and rear endpapers are lacking, the front and rear hinges are split and rough but holding, there is light water staining to the top margin of many of the pages, not affecting text, there is foxing, most noticeably on the margins of the plates and on the plates’ tissue guards; a few of the plates tissue guards are lacking, including one for the frontispiece; the frontispiece has offsetting from the ink signature on its backside; and there is some corner creasing, edge wear, spotting and smudging here and there; overall the inner pages remain rather nice, with printing that is bright and clear. The fold open map has a 2 inch tear on each side of the horizontal center fold, and some creases, but is still sturdy, bright and opens well.
