    Bound hardcover book with 6 months of the Ballou magazine.
    Ballou's Monthly Magazine
    began 1855 as Ballou's Dollar Monthly Magazine. It was the Dollar Monthly Magazine from 1863-1865, and became Ballou's Monthly Magazine in 1866. It ran until 1893.

    The first is the vidette or the mounted picket guard.
    The second shows the tired men at the night bivouac.
    The third is an actual picture of the First Massachusetts infantry in camp.
    The fourth is United States Flying Infantry.
    The fifth is from an actual scene also where our troops are bringing in prisoners from a skirmish across the Potomac.
    The sixth, and largest is  a charge of Massachusetts Infantry at the battle of Antietam.
