    This copy was deaccessioned from the Massachusetts Historical Society. There is a vintage bookplate of the Massachusetts Historical Society on the front pastedown that has the handwritten date of May 3, 1870, and its blindstamp on the title page There are also a couple other stamps and marks here and there. The bookplate has a blue overstamp that reads: Cancelled / Massachusetts Historical Society.
    These directories were produced as advertising vehicles, so there are ads throughout, many are very interesting and some with cool illustrations.
