    Description:
This is THE MASONIC CHART, or “Hieroglyphic Monitor” published in 1854.
The Masonic Chart is an explanatory guide to the many different "emblems," or symbols, illustrations, etc., associated with various degrees of Freemasonry, i.e. Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, Master Mason, Mark Master, Past Master, Most Excellent Master, Royal Arch, Royal Master and Select Master. The designation, “Hieroglyphic Monitor” is presumably derived from the fact that this book furnishes a key to understanding what would otherwise be cryptic pictorial symbols.
The author, Jeremy L. Cross, pored through the works of previously published Freemason's monitors, culled the pictorial emblems and symbols from those books, then collected and arranged them here so that Masons could access the body of pictorial emblems and symbols, with explanations, in a single volume.
THE MASONIC CHART also contains individual detailed chapters on each of the Degrees cited above, with explanations of those Degrees, charges, instructions for rituals, etc.
In addition, THE MASONIC CHART also features a 100-page History of Freemasonry, and a 70-page section of Masonic songs, complete with music and lyrics.
THE MASONIC CHART And Hieroglyphic Monitor. A rare Masonic title, 167-years-old, recently restored and given a second chance to carry its body of mysterious wisdom into the years ahead.
